Israel asks US for missiles for Iron Dome

Jerusalem asked Washington for more Iron Dome interceptors and JDAM equipment.

Israel is asking the US for guided bombs and additional interceptors for the Iron Dome air defense system. CNN reported this on Monday, October 9, citing Israeli and American officials.

The request also includes JDAM equipment that turns an unguided bomb into a precision weapon. Israel uses such munitions to launch air strikes against targets in Gaza.

Jerusalem is asking Washington for more interceptors for Iron Dome, a short-range air defense system that has neutralized many missiles fired from Gaza.

Due to its heavy load of incendiary fire, some of the missiles hit their target.

The Israeli military may invite additional weapons depending on how the situation develops.

As you know, on October 7, the Palestinians launched 5,000 rockets at Israel. This was said by the head of the Izadin al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, Muhammad Deif.
