Prime Minister Rishi Sunak spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this afternoon following Hamas attacks in Israel, it said.
“He confirmed that the UK will stand unequivocally with Israel against these acts of terrorism. The Prime Minister has offered Prime Minister Netanyahu whatever support Israel needs,” the statement said.
Sunak stressed that London will do everything to ensure that the Jewish community in the UK feels safe.
As we wrote earlier, the United States is sending its aircraft carrier fleet to the eastern Mediterranean because of Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel.
It was previously reported that the United States has received a request from Israel for additional military aid and will announce its provision on Sunday.
