In winter, air defense forces will focus on protecting Ukraine’s energy sector, strategic state facilities and critical infrastructure. The same tactics have been used in the past. This was said by the spokesman of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuri Ignat, in a telethon.
“These systems will strengthen the same areas that were put in place last year. It is clear that the emphasis will be placed on energy facilities, during the heating of the energy and fuel sector as a whole, as well as on strategic facilities state and critical infrastructure facilities,” he explained.
According to him, there is a whole list of things that the enemy might want to hit.
“It is also worth adding the food sector to the critical infrastructure facilities, because the Russians are hitting it,” added the PS representative of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Ukraine still lacks defense systems, so it needs to use everything that can hit targets in the air, Ingat emphasized.
At the same time, the air defense will try to shoot down as much as possible everything fired by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, he assured.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has previously stressed that Russian terrorists will try to destroy Ukraine’s energy system this winter.
