The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky expressed his condolences on the death of People’s Artist Nina Matvienko.
“Today, a real People’s Artist of Ukraine has left us. In every sense of the word. Nina Mitrofanovna Matvienko. Applause of her unique singing sounded in halls throughout Ukraine, in the USA, Canada, France, Poland, South Korea, Mexico, in Latin America and in many other places on the planet,” the head of state wrote in Telegram.
The President mentioned that his inimitable, authentic and truly magical voice, his folk lyrics and ritual songs will remain with us forever.
“Carols, Shchedrivkas, Vesnyanka, Kupala, Harvest and Obzhinka, wedding songs and lullabies he composed. Charming violin, Wild goose, Kvitka-soul… All this will live forever in our culture, in our music, in our memory. My sincere condolences to family and friends… In loving memories! – wrote Zelensky.
