Nina Matvienko, a famous Ukrainian singer and actress, died at the age of 75.

Her daughter Tonya Mativienko announced this today, October 8, on her social network page.
“Mom died,” she noted, without disclosing details.
Two days later, on October 10, Nina Matvienko would have turned 76 years old.
Matvienko was known for performing folk songs, as well as participating in television plays (“Marusya Churai”, “Ekaterina Bilokur”, “Water Spilled on Four Fords”), feature films (“Straw Bells”, “Missing the Letter”) and radio plays (“Flight arrows”, “Clarinets of tenderness”).
In 1978, she received the title of Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR for her great contribution to the development of Ukrainian art and for active cultural and creative activities, in 1985 – the title of People’s Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. In 2006, then-President Viktor Yushchenko awarded her the title of Hero of Ukraine.
She was also a laureate of the 1988 Shevchenko Prize for concert and performing activities.
Participated in the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity.
