Yesterday, the Russians used an Iskander missile to instantly kill 52 residents of Groza village, Kupyansky district, Kharkov region. Six people were seriously injured and are now in hospital. Four other residents are considered missing, two of them children.
“More than half of the village was killed by the missile”
Last year Groza was under employed. According to the prosecutor’s office of the Kharkov region, about one hundred people currently live in the village.
On October 5, the Russian military fired an Iskander missile at a shop-café in a village where people had gathered for a funeral dinner. The blow was so strong that only the foundation of the building remained.

During the battle, Andrei Kozyr was wounded in the neck and buried in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
In June of this year, his son Denis resigned from the service for health reasons and decided to rebury his father in his homeland – in the de-occupied village of Groza. But yesterday, as a result of the Russian strike, Denis and his wife, his mother, sister, and grandparents died.
It became known from social networks that Denis married his beloved Nina on August 14, 2022. The girl was 20 years old, she worked as a laboratory assistant at the Kharkov Humanitarian Pedagogical Academy.
Her friend Ekaterina Litvin wrote on Facebook: “My dear Nina Valentinovna, Nina, Ninchik… In 9 days, I will write a big congratulations on your 21st birthday, but your heart stopped at beating at age 20, and now I’m writing an obituary.”
Whole family died
The Panteleev family was also present at the wake – wives, parents of three children, along with mother and father. Because of this, four people from the family died.
The father of the dead woman, Valery Kozyr, said that he lost not only his daughter, son-in-law and matchmakers, but also his godfathers. Valery is a distant relative of the military man commemorated that day.
“Yesterday my son, son-in-law, in-laws and godmothers died. I will be buried here. Three grandchildren are left. I had to do night duty, I didn’t go awake. If I was there. I just want my wife to endure . What, how can I be left alone, how will my grandchildren be? I will “raise” my grandchildren, I thought they will help me. In the family of the head of the village of Groza, as reported by sisters Inna and Lyubov, one sister and four cousins died. They all knew the dead soldier Andrei. The leader himself is considered missing.
“Relatives did not find him, his car was parked here. The village is known for its friendliness and company, so there are many people in the cafe. In my opinion, it was a target, because the high-precision weapons hit. the thing, ” said the head of the village’s military administration, Sergei Starikov.
In the family of Vladimir Mukhovaty, a brother and his wife died, as well as his mother.
Another resident of the village of Tatyana, who moved here during the massive war with Kupyansk, lost his daughter and son-in-law, leaving two children without parents.
“The whole village was buried by a rocket. Now in every yard there is not just one coffin, but five, three coffins. We have very little left here. The whole village is there and I am afraid to look in that direction,” said one of the village residents.
People will be buried in two cemeteries. In the cemetery in the village of Groza itself, they have already started clearing the thickets to dig about 40 graves.
