This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
In April, the Metropolitan was informed of suspicion for denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation and spreading calls for interfaith hatred. At the beginning of the year, the court chose a preventive measure for him in the form of house arrest and began reviewing the proceedings.
However, this did not stop the cleric, and in his own home he began recording provocative videos in which he repeated Kremlin narratives about religious communities in Ukraine. It was established that in his appeals the defendant spoke disparagingly about believers and clergy of other faiths, the report says.
During searches at the cleric’s place of residence, the following were discovered: a provocative video of the defendant, computer equipment and a mobile phone, which he used to record and distribute hostile content. Based on new evidence, the Metropolitan was informed of another suspicion under Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the equality of citizens depending on their religious beliefs, committed repeatedly by an official). The investigation into all the circumstances of the crime continues.
