The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that increases state budget expenditures in 2023 by more than 300 billion hryvnias, mainly for defense needs. This was reported by parliamentary finance committee member Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram on Friday, October 6.
“After 11 hours and 15 minutes of consideration of amendments, the parliament voted in general to increase the expenditures of the 2023 state budget by UAH 322.6 billion. For – 313,” he wrote.
In particular, additional funds will be allocated for:

Foreign Intelligence Service for UAH 500 million

At the same time, before the second reading, the increase in expenses for the Bureau of Economic Security was reduced by UAH 95.2 million – to UAH 219 million.
“Such changes set two records in the history of Ukraine: for the first time, the general budget expenditure will exceed UAH 3.39 trillion, and the deficit will exceed UAH 2 trillion,” said the people’s representative.
We remind you that on September 15, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft budget for 2024. The main priority is the defense of Ukraine. Spending on the security sector will account for half of the budget.
