Australian authorities responded to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s request for military assistance.
Australia will send a Bushmaster armored personnel carrier of its own production to Ukraine. This was announced on Friday, April 1, by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, CNN reports.
“We don’t just send our prayers, we send our weapons, we send our ammunition, we send our humanitarian aid, we send it all and bulletproof vests … We send our Bushmaster “armored personnel carriers. And we will send them there (to Ukraine) for our C-17 aircraft,” Morrison said.
It is noted that in this way the Prime Minister of Australia responded to the request of President Volodymyr Zelensky to join arms assistance to Ukraine.
Earlier, Australian authorities imposed additional duties of 35% on all goods imported from Russia and Belarus, and also banned the export of alumina and aluminum ores to Russia.
The list of sanctions of the country includes more than 500 Russian individuals and legal entities.
