The governor of the Belgorod region said the fire at the oil depot occurred as a result of air strikes from two helicopters of the Ukrainian armed forces.
The cause of the fire at the city’s oil depot on the morning of April 1 was “airstrike of Ukraine.” This was stated by the governor of the Russian Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov.
“The fire at the oil depot occurred as a result of an air strike from two helicopters of the Ukrainian armed forces, which entered Russian territory at low altitude,” he said.
Gladkov also said no one was killed as a result of the incident.
“All resources are available to put out the fire. The Ministry of Emergency Situations is trying to localize the fire as soon as possible. Nothing threatens the population,” the Russian governor wrote.
A video from surveillance cameras appeared on local public pages, showing that the alleged missiles were visible before the fire started.
Recall that in the city of Belgorod of Russia, located near the border with Ukraine, there was a huge fire at the oil depot.
It will be recalled that on the night of March 29, an ammunition depot was set on fire in the suburbs of Belgorod. As a result, four Russian servicemen were injured.
According to Russian media, the cause of the fire and subsequent explosions was the “human factor”.
At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine said the warehouse incident arose as a result of a “typical use” of obsolete ammunition by Russian military personnel.
