From February 24, 2022 to the beginning of October 2023, criminal cases of sabotage on Russian railways were opened in Russia against 137 people. This was reported by the Russian Internet resource Media zone.
The publication focused on the fact that those accused of sabotage were mostly young people, including minors.
In total, the publication knows about the age of 124 accused. At the time of detention, 39 of them were minors, 55 people were between 18 and 25 years old, 17 were over 35 years old.

Most of the cases are investigated under the articles of sabotage, a fifth under the articles of terrorism, and many more contain cases of treason, arson or damage to transport routes. More were accused of sabotage on railways in Moscow and the Moscow region (14), Chelyabinsk region (13) and Bashkortostan (10).
Earlier it was reported that the occupiers detained a Ukrainian “for sabotaging the Kherson railway.” The occupiers claim that in February 2022 he destroyed the railway in Kherson to distract Russian troops.
