Shoigu reviewed the combat training work of the reserve regiments at the training area of the Southern Military District.
The Russian Federation has reportedly formed 9 reserve regiments for the war against Ukraine. This was said by the Minister of Defense of the aggressor country, Sergei Shoigu, reports RosSMI.
“If we return to contract soldiers, we, as decided by the General Staff of the Russian Federation, will form reserve regiments for each group. Starting today (October 5, 2023, – ed.) We have nine reserve regiments being prepared and they are naturally, constantly replenished. Volunteers. During this time, we got 38 thousand volunteers. People are highly motivated, ready to undertake combat missions. Some already have combat experience, because many of the volunteers, who completed the six-month contract, returned for a second, and some returned for the third time,” said Shoigu.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Shoigu inspected the combat training of the reserve regiments at the training ground of the Southern Military District.
He said they were simultaneously training contract soldiers who were recruited last month and volunteers, among whom there were many women. They are mainly doctors and health workers.
