As a result of a major bus accident in Venice, 21 people died, including nine Ukrainians. This was reported by RaiNews on Wednesday, October 4, with reference to a statement by the Prefect of Venice, Michele de Barry.
The prefect said that all the victims of the car accident have been identified. Among the dead were also four citizens of Romania, three of Germany, one of Italy (driver), one of Croatia, two of Portugal, one of South Africa.
Another 15 people were injured, including two children – known to be five Ukrainians, two Spaniards, one German, three Austrians, one Croatian citizen and one French citizen, two others have not yet been identified, reports Il Resto del Carlino. The mayor of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro, declared three days of mourning.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry confirmed the death of four Ukrainian citizens in an accident in Venice. Four other Ukrainians were wounded, said department spokesman Oleg Nikolenko.
