The soldiers of the special unit of the Security Service of Ukraine, fighting the Russian invaders in the direction of Kupyansk, received two pickup trucks and a minibus, reports the Metinvest company, which provided assistance.
“Metinvest provided transportation worth 2 million hryvnias as part of businessman Rinat Akhmetov’s military initiative, the Steel Front,” the statement said.
A representative of the unit that received the transport said the vehicles will be used to transport ammunition and transport people to the front line of defense.
“SUVs are very effectively used in combat missions because they have high availability. Now is the active phase, and unfortunately, equipment losses are high. And these vehicles will be used directly to defeat the enemies,” he said.
According to the head of the Metinvest project office, Alexander Vodoviz, more than 400 vehicles and about 1,500 drones have already been delivered to the army as part of the Steel Front initiative.
Let’s remember that at the end of the summer it was reported that this company of Akhmetov transferred 200 FPV drones and 50 DJI Mavics to the main intelligence department. In total, since the beginning of the war, the Metinvest group has sent 4 billion hryvnias to help the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Ukrainians.
