The director of the Department of Infrastructure of the Sumy City Council received the same suspicion. They are accused of receiving unlawful benefits in the amount of UAH 2.13 million. The day before, officials were detained while receiving the last tranche of a bribe – 1.4 million UAH. NABU reported this on October 3.
Law enforcement officers qualified the actions of civil servants under Part 4 of Art. 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or obtaining unlawful benefits by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigators found that the defendants demanded money for making a decision to set a tariff and not create artificial obstacles in the activities of the enterprise.
It is expected that both suspects will soon be given a preventive measure.
Let us remind you that on October 2, the Security Service of Ukraine detained the mayor of Sumy, Alexander Lysenko, and the director of the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Sumy City Council. Officials demanded a bribe in the amount of more than 2 million UAH from the company dealing with household waste.
