The US Congress passed a temporary budget bill to avoid a government shutdown. The new resolution does not provide support for Ukraine.
Financial and military support for Ukraine is an important issue and needs to be increased. This was said on Monday, October 2, by the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Odile Renaud-Basso, writes Reuters.
Thus, he responded to the decision of the US Congress to approve a temporary budget without allocating funds to help Ukraine.
“What happened in the US Congress raises some questions. The US President confirmed his firm commitment, because this is a key issue for Ukraine,” he said.
The publication states that in 2023 the EBRD will finance Ukraine with $1.2 billion. In total, he promised to send at least $3 billion to help our state.
It was previously reported that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide a 200 million euro loan to Ukrzaliznytsia to modernize railway communications in EU countries.
We remind you that the EBRD named the necessary amount of investment for the restoration of Ukraine. According to his estimates, the five-year period of reconstruction of Ukraine after the war will require an additional investment of almost $50 billion per year.
