Record-breaking activity of fraudsters recorded in Ukraine

During the eight months of 2023, 59,605 criminal proceedings for fraud were initiated in Ukraine, and this is the highest number in the past two years.

In 2023, fraud activity was recorded in Ukraine. This was reported by the open data platform OpenDatabot with reference to data from the Office of the Prosecutor General.

It is reported that in eight months of 2023, 59,605 criminal proceedings for fraud were initiated in Ukraine, and this is the highest number in the past two years: in 2021, 23,847 criminal cases for fraud were initiated, in 2022 – 32,086.

In 2023, the number of new fraud cases will grow every month. If at the beginning of the year an average of 6.7 thousand new productions were registered, then from May the average number is 8.2 thousand.

It is noted that the number of cases reaching the court is decreasing annually, despite the increase in the number of proceedings: for 8 months of 2023, only 14% of the total number of open proceedings reached the court, and in the corresponding period of 2021 this number is 30%.
