A bill to support Ukraine will be submitted to Congress separately. The White House expects it will soon be submitted to the lower house for consideration.
The US House of Representatives will soon separately consider a bill to support Ukraine. This was reported on Saturday, September 30, by The Washington Post, citing a White House official speaking on condition of anonymity.
He said the administration supports the House stopgap budget bill because it prevents deep cuts to local programs and includes disaster relief.
The administration official also added that he expects House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to soon introduce another bill to support Ukraine.
We remind you that on Saturday the US House of Representatives approved temporary funding for the government, to avoid the so-called shutdown. The White House tried to include a compromise of $6 billion for Ukraine in the draft budget until mid-November, but this initiative did not get enough votes.
At the same time, the Joe Biden administration plans to achieve the allocation of additional funds of $40 billion, of which $24 billion should be allocated to Ukraine.
