The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it positively noted Orban’s “concern” for Ukraine’s European integration. They also noted that Ukraine did not change the borders of its territory. Press Secretary of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleg Nikolenko wrote about this on Facebook.
We note positively that the Prime Minister of Hungary cares about Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. We inform you that Ukraine has not changed its territory within the internationally recognized borders,” the message says.
Let us recall that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned the Ukrainian authorities against “ambitious plans” to join the European Union within two years. He said that “accepting Ukraine into the EU without knowing its territory would be unprecedented.”
He said the European Union must decide whether it can “seriously consider” membership of a country currently at war.
