“Based on the collected evidence, Ruben Karlenovich Vardanyan, born in 1968, who is currently a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, was charged under Article 214-1 (financing of terrorism), 279.3 (participation in the creation and activity of armed formations. or groups not provided for by law) and 318.1 (illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan,” the message said.
According to the State Security Service, “for those who committed illegal actions, Ruben Vardanyan was detained on September 27, 2023, brought to criminal responsibility as an accused person with charges filed against him, and in by decision of the court, a preventive measure in the form of the arrest was chosen against him.”
Earlier on Thursday it became known that the unrecognized republic of Nagorno-Karabakh ceased to exist. All its “state bodies” will dissolve on January 1, 2024. The local population must independently decide their place of residence.
