In Transcarpathia, a group was exposed to be involved in transporting men liable for military service abroad. This is reported by the State Border Guard Service.
It was noted that a resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, together with three of his accomplices, set up a scheme in which they searched throughout the country for people of military age who intended to leave the territory illegally of Ukraine. Then, for a monetary reward, the people were taken to Romania.
The four were detained while receiving funds in the amount of $5,500 from two residents of Ivano-Frankivsk and one resident of the Kharkiv region. The attackers planned to take their clients along the Tisza River and receive another $3,000 from them if they entered Romanian territory.
The organizer of the criminal scheme has been jailed. He was charged on suspicion of illegally transporting people across the state border.
Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the offense and bring to justice all those involved. They face a prison sentence of seven to nine years.
It was also reported that the border guards of the Belgorod-Dniester detachment prevented five attempts to illegally cross the state border.
In the first case, near the village of Kalachevka, border guards detained a resident of the Odessa region. Upon noticing the border patrol, the man ignored legal requests to stop and began running. But warning shots and an anti-vehicle ditch, into which he stumbled, stopped the intruder.
In another case, having received preliminary operational information, outside the village of Gradenitsa, border guards stopped a resident of the Kiev region. Upon examination of the document, the man could not explain the purpose of his arrival at the border settlement. Realizing that his intentions had been exposed, he nevertheless admitted that he wanted to go abroad.
In three other cases, men trying to cross the border illegally were detained near the Palanka-Mayaki-Udobnoe checkpoint.
All detained violators are brought to administrative responsibility.
We remind you that the State Border Guard Service detained evaders traveling to Moldova in a truck trailer.
It was also reported that a large group of drug evaders was intercepted in the Odessa region.
