The Main Intelligence Directorate reported that the Halino airfield was attacked by three UAVs. The first drone struck the tanks of fuel and lubricants, which are used for the needs of the 14th air regiment.
Next, a group of military personnel and, probably, the regiment’s command staff went to the burning train to assess the damage and take measures to extinguish the fire. At that moment, a second drone hit almost the same place. This blow caused the majority of casualties among the personnel of the aviation regiment, including the command.
After some time, a third UAV was discovered on the airfield. It was landed by electronic warfare and exploded during the fall. Instead of calling a group of sappers to the scene, local military personnel decided to independently inspect the “find.” As they approached the drone, it detonated.
Let us recall that Babel’s source in the Main Intelligence Directorate reported that on September 24, at the Khalino airfield in the Kursk region, a drone attacked the premises where the leadership of the 14th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment named after. Zhdanov.
Wounded or killed:
- commander of the 14th air regiment;
- one of his deputies;
- a group of aviator officers;
- representative of the FSB military counterintelligence;
- airport workers.
Currently, intelligence is clarifying data on their condition.
This is not the first attack on Halino. On the night of August 27, 16 cardboard UAVs of the Sypaq PDSS type (according to other information, an unknown Ukrainian development), stuffed with impressive tungsten carbide elements, attacked the airfield. Then four Su-30s, one MiG-29 and an air defense radar came under attack.
