North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un’s trip to Russia is a demonstration of the “broad security threat” posed by the DPRK.
The United States views cooperation between Russia and North Korea as “an increasingly dangerous two-way street.” United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced this on Monday, September 25, CNN reports.
He noted that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s trip to Russia was a manifestation of the “broad security threat” from the DPRK.
Speaking about the cooperation between the regimes, Blinken indicated that they are interested in each other. Thus, Russia “has lost confidence in its pursuit of equipment, materials and technology for its aggression against Ukraine,” and North Korea is asking for help to strengthen and advance its own missile programs.
“We are working side by side with other partners and allies to identify dangerous ways that Russia and North Korea may be engaging in military cooperation that threatens global peace and security,” Blinken added.
The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, and the Minister of Defense of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, discussed the strengthening of military cooperation and exchanges between the DPRK.
North Korea will probably increase its supply of artillery ammunition to Russia, but it is unlikely to make much of a difference. This is what the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, said.
