Even owning a drone is now illegal in Belarus, let alone buying and using one.
The self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has signed a decree banning the country’s citizens from importing, storing, selling, manufacturing and using drones. This was stated on Monday, September 25, in Lukashenko’s order “On state registration and operation of civil unmanned aerial vehicles.”
The text of the decree states that the import into the country, storage, handling, operation and production of civilian drones is allowed only to organizations and individual entrepreneurs for the purpose of their professional activities. At the same time, for this they will need to obtain appropriate permission. It will be issued by the Department of Aviation of the Ministry of Transport of the country; it will keep records of drones owned by organizations and individual entrepreneurs. For this purpose, an automatic information system will be created.
Residents of Belarus have six months to sell their drones to organizations that already own them or transfer them for storage to an “authorized organization designated by the government.”
Earlier, Alexander Lukashenko said he was thinking about how to counter attacks by drones flying “back and forth” in Russia.
Lukashenko said that the goals of the so-called “SVO” have been achieved. Putin’s henchman believes that Ukraine will never be aggressive towards Russia after the current war.
