Farhan Al Saud said official Riyadh supports international efforts aimed at establishing peace in Ukraine.
Saudi Arabia is ready to act as a mediator for a peaceful settlement of the war started by the Russian Federation against Ukraine. This was said by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, speaking at the general debate of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Ukrinform reported on Sunday, September 24.
“Regarding the Russian-Ukrainian crisis (as he called the entire Russian invasion of Ukraine – ed.), the kingdom (Saudi Arabia – ed.) once again called for an end to this crisis, limiting its negative consequences for security. and stability around the world”, – he said.
Farhan Al Saud pointed out that official Riyadh supports international efforts aimed at establishing peace and, in particular, gave “its good office” for the purpose of freeing prisoners of various nationalities and invited Ukraine to participate in the Arab League summit in Jeddah.
“In addition, at the beginning of August last year, the Kingdom hosted a meeting of national security advisors and representatives of more than 40 countries and international organizations, and the Kingdom confirmed its readiness to continue to make mediation efforts between the two sides of the crisis,” concluded Farhan Al Saud.
We remind you that Saudi Arabia and Iran have officially resumed diplomatic relations after a seven-year hiatus.
Earlier, the commander of the aerospace forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Amir Ali Hajizadeh, said that Iran has missiles that can hit US military bases in Afghanistan, the UAE and Qatar.
