Ukrainian intelligence announced the death of at least nine members of its headquarters, including Russian generals.
At least nine people died and 16 were injured as a result of a Ukrainian missile attack on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol on Friday, September 22. This was announced by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine , Kirill Budanov, in a commentary on the Voice of America.
He noted that Russian generals were wounded.
“Among the wounded is the commander of the group, Colonel General (Alexander) Romanchuk, who is in a very serious condition. The chief of staff, Lieutenant General (Oleg) Tsekov, is unconscious. The number of wounded ordinary military personnel who are not employees of the headquarters is still established. These are the military who carry the service, security, and so on – they are not included in the list that I revealed to you, “said Budanov.
At the same time, Budanov did not confirm reports about the possible death of the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Viktor Sokolov. No information yet from GUR about his condition.
When asked what role partisans and local residents played in planning the strike, Budanov replied that intelligence was collecting data from all sources. “Obviously intelligence sources are one of the main ones,” he added.
At the same time, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate did not answer whether missiles produced by the West were used in the attack on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
“Here I must refrain from answering, I think you must understand me,” he said.
Alexander Romanchuk – commander of the group of Russian forces in the direction of Zaporozhye, received the rank of colonel general in 2023. Lieutenant General Oleg Tsekov – commander of the 200th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Coastal Forces of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy.
We remind you that in Sevastopol the headquarters of the Russian fleet was attacked; in Russia, casualties were announced.
Later, the partisan movement announced its participation in the strike.
