The Cabinet of Ministers made changes to the action plan to prevent the abuse of excessive influence by persons with significant economic and political weight in public life (oligarchs).
The register of oligarchs will be created three months after the end of martial law. Previously, it was planned to create such a register three months from the date of publication of the Venice Commission’s conclusion to the law on oligarchs.
Let us recall that the law establishes restrictions on the actions of oligarchs, including a ban on financing political parties and the purchase of large state assets for privatization.
At the end of June 2022, Vladimir Zelensky introduced the Regulations on the Register of Oligarchs. The document defines the procedure for forming and maintaining the register of oligarchs. It will exist in electronic form, and access to the data will be open. At the same time, data containing state or official secrets will not be entered into the database.
