Five Bulgarian citizens will be charged with conspiracy to commit espionage. Among them were three boys and two girls.
British prosecutors said five Bulgarian nationals would be charged on suspicion of spying for Russia. Sky News reported this.
Three men and two women are in question (Orlin Rusev, 45 years old; Bizer Dzhambazov, 41 years old; Katrin Ivanova, 31 years old; Ivan Stoyanov, 31 years old; Vanya Gaberova, 29 years old).
According to the head of the Directorate for Combating Highly Dangerous Crimes and Terrorism of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Nick Price, the defendants will be charged with “conspiracy to collect information intended for direct or indirect use by the enemy for purposes harmful to the security and interests of state, in the period from August 30 2020 to February 8, 2023.”
It turned out that in February, Russev, Dzhambazov and Ivanova were already charged with having false identity documents. The charges were laid following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
