The Ukrainian military has taken out half of Severodonetsk and is advancing, the Luhansk OVA chief said.
The Russian military was demoralized by the fact that they could not capture Severodonetsk for 102 days. This was announced by the head of Lugansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai.
“Our defenders control half of the city and have cleared it. We are moving forward,” Gaidai said.
According to him, the commander of the Russian army received two tasks – to capture Severodonetsk and the Lisichansk -Bakhmut highway on June 10.
“In the near future, the number of attacks from Russia will increase, they will be hit by artillery. They will try to bring down the Luhansk region to the ground. They have no other tactics,” Gaidai said.
He added that evacuation from Severodonetsk is not yet possible: about 15,000 people remain in the city. And on June 5, 98 people were rescued from Lisichansk.
Earlier today, Gaidai said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine was capable of recapturing Severodonetsk, but in strategic terms, the city was not very important.
Recall that British intelligence assessed the counterattack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Severodonetsk. It is said that the operational momentum previously gained by the Russian forces through the concentration of combat units and firepower has been lost.
