“Ukraine takes corruption very seriously,” and the United States controls the funds provided, the US Secretary of State said.
Ukrainian authorities “show zero tolerance for corruption,” and the United States of America controls the funds spent. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this in an interview with CBS Mornings.
“The very fact that President Zelensky took action ostensibly to fight corruption shows that Ukrainians take this very seriously. And they know that the United States and dozens of other countries that support Ukraine are want to make sure that The support we give them is used correctly,” said the head of the US State Department.
Blinken also emphasized that teams of American specialists are working in Ukraine, as well as in other countries, to ensure that the money is spent for the purposes for which it was sent to the country.
“I’ve talked to members of Congress who have traveled to Ukraine, and they’ve seen our efforts prove that these funds are well accounted for. They haven’t seen anything so effective in other places before,” said the US Secretary of State.
Blinken also commented separately on the dismissal of the leadership of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
“Whether they were all fired because of corruption is an open question. I think in some cases there are other reasons. But for us, for me, the fact that Zelensky takes decisive action wherever he is saw something, is proof that they are taking it seriously,” said the head of the US State Department.
We remind you that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, at a meeting on September 19, adopted three important decisions against corruption. They are related to the fight against bribery and money laundering.
