Of the civilian population, seven died, two of them children, 35 were injured, 13 of them children, according to Yerevan.
More than 30 people died and more than 200 were injured in the Azerbaijani military operation in Nagorno-Karabakh that began on September 19. Armenpress reported this in connection with the local ombudsman on Wednesday, September 20.
“The Azerbaijani Armed Forces are using large-caliber weapons, including artillery, against the civilian population. As a result of the strike, 32 dead and over 200 wounded are currently known. Among the civilian population, seven died, two of which were children, 35 were injured, 13 of them children,” the message said.
The Ombudsman says that “Azerbaijan’s aggression grossly violates the principles of international law and international humanitarian law.”
Let’s recall that on September 19, Azerbaijan launched a new military operation in Nagorno-Karabakh to “restore constitutional order.” Aviation and artillery operate in the region.
The Armenian Ministry of Defense has stated that the armed forces of the republic are not in Nagorno-Karabakh. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that Armenia does not intend to take military action with Azerbaijan. After his words, protests began in the center of Yerevan.
