The Verkhovna Rada agreed on a bill to write off debts for the property of citizens destroyed during the war. The document has already been approved by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and head of the National Bank Kirill Shevchenko, head of the Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Daniil Getmantsev said on Facebook on Sunday, June 5.

“On behalf of the president, we agreed with the head of the National Bank and the prime minister on developing a bill to write off the debt on consumer loans for the purchase of movable and immovable property destroyed during the conflict. , “he said. wrote.

According to him, the bill will be submitted to the Rada within next week.

“A person should not pay a debt for something that does not exist,” Getmantsev added.

Earlier it was reported that the citizens of Ukraine have already filed 135,000 applications for damaged and destroyed property during the Russian military invasion of Ukraine. In early May, the total area of ​​damaged housing was 9.4 million square meters.

The maximum compensation for destroyed or damaged housing during Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine was also named.
