The reason for the “anti-terrorist measures” was the explosion of a truck, which Baku blamed on the Armenian military.
Azerbaijan has begun “anti-terrorist measures” in Nagorno-Karabakh to restore constitutional order. The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported this on Tuesday, September 19.
“With the use of high-precision weapons, front-line and deep positions and long-term firing points, as well as combat vehicles and military facilities of the Armed Forces of Armenia were destroyed,” the statement said .
The formal cause was the explosion of a truck, which was blamed on the Armenian military.
“Such facts are a continuation of Armenia’s objective and systematic terrorist policy against Azerbaijan,” Baku said.
According to local media, an air raid warning is currently sounding in Stepanakert and mobile communications are not working.
Also, the Azerbaijani media showed the moment of the destruction of the Tor air defense system of the Armenian Armed Forces in the Stepanakert area.
Earlier, Armenia said Azerbaijan was massing troops on the border to “make a new military provocation against Nagorno-Karabakh.”
