German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced a new military aid package for Ukraine in the amount of 400 million euros.
Germany announced a new military aid package for Ukraine with a total value of 400 million euros. This includes ammunition, mine clearance systems, as well as electric and heat generators. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said this in an interview with Bild.
“We are providing additional ammunition: explosives, mortars, anti-mortars. Because ammunition is what Ukraine needs most urgently in its defense struggle in this brutal, aggressive war,” he said.
The minister added that Germany will help Ukraine with protective equipment and mine clearance systems.
“But we do not forget that winter is approaching: we will send not only clothes, but also generators of electricity and heat. In total, the package is worth 400 million euros,” added Pistorius.
Regarding the delivery of the Taurus cruise missile, the minister said: “It is the responsibility of the entire federal government to carefully weigh each delivery of weapons. Some political, legal, military and technical nuances need to be clarified. This is not easy. No decision has been made yet on whether the federal government will send Taurus cruise missiles.”
It was previously reported that Germany is discussing with partner countries the temporary transfer of IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine.
