The drone is connected to the war started by Russia against Ukraine, emphasized the Bulgarian Defense Minister.
The drone discovered on the Black Sea coast in Bulgaria is linked to Russia’s war against Ukraine. This is what Bulgarian Defense Minister Todor Tagarev said, CNN reports.
“This drone is connected to the war started by Russia against Ukraine,” he said.
The minister clarified that it is not yet possible to know whose drone it is and how it ended up on Bulgarian territory.
The drone carries an 82mm high-explosive mortar mine. The sappers blew it up.
The head of the Bulgarian Defense Ministry noted that he did not know how long the drone had been undetected, but noted that it was not the first such “splinter of war” discovered outside the conflict.
“There are already cases of falling fragments of drones and parts of ammunition. Although there is no reason to assume that this war will pass us by,” Tagarev added.
Let’s recall that earlier it became known that on the night of September 18, an unknown drone with an explosive device was discovered on the Black Sea coast in the Bulgarian village of Tyulenevo. The tourist resort of Tyulenovo is located 70 kilometers south of the Romanian border and across the Black Sea from Russian-occupied Crimea.
