The author of the bill believes that Russia is the Soviet Union. Therefore, it will fight all the former republics to return to the 1991 borders.
A representative of the Russian party of power, United Russia, Evgeny Fedorov, prepared a bill for the State Duma, in which he proposed to return the USSR within its former borders. This was reported by the Focus publication on Saturday, September 16.
Fedorov defends his position by the fact that on the territory of independent countries that were former republics of the USSR, various conflicts occur all the time.
Therefore, it is “logical” to return them to Moscow’s control, even if Russia has to fight each of these countries.
Fedorov said that the republics left the USSR “illegally,” and therefore Russia had the right to return them. The current invasion of Ukraine, according to Fedorov, is the beginning of such a return. In his opinion, the former Union republics are in conflict with the Russian Federation and will continue to be in conflict in the future. To solve these issues, the Russian Federation will fight everything, the representative assured.
“The entire territory of the USSR is unstable. There are military actions around. The story in Ukraine is the 100th. Before that there was Tajikistan, Transnistria, and Georgia, and many others. This means that the violation of the law of 90 -91 gave rise to ongoing conflicts. To stop them, we need to return to the basics – to the position of the law, “said Fedorov.
Also, according to him, there are claims against Lithuania: according to the deputy of the State Duma, it should not be a member of NATO, and special lawyers should deal with the issues of restoration of borders.
Earlier, Fedorov proposed to remove the resolution on the independence of Lithuania. According to him, the resolution of the USSR State Council was illegal because it “violated the Constitution of the USSR.”
