In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian military has had partial success in the areas of Verbovoy and Novoprokopivka in the Zaporozhye region, as well as in Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in its morning report on Saturday, September 16.

In total, 24 military clashes took place on the front. The Russians carried out 59 air strikes and carried out 36 attacks from MLRS on both the positions of our troops and civilian targets of our state. The invaders attacked Ukraine with 17 drones of the Shahed-136/131 type. All were destroyed by air defense systems.

More than a hundred settlements in Kharkov, Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

In the zone of responsibility of the OSUV Khortytsia in the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Yagodnoye and Bogdanovka in the Donetsk region. In turn, our defenders, based on the results of their offensive operations, were successful in the Klishchievka area.

In the zone of responsibility of the Tavria OSUV in the Maryinsky direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the Maryinka area of ​​the Donetsk region. Here, in the past 24 hours, the enemy has made 13 unsuccessful attempts to dislodge our units from their positions.

In addition, all enemy attacks in the Urozhainy area of ​​the Donetsk region were repelled.

At the same time, in the directions of Avdeevsky, Maryinsky and Shakhtarsky, the Ukrainian Armed Forces retained the initiative, pressed the enemy and carried out offensive operations.

In the direction of Melitopol, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued the offensive operation, causing heavy losses to the occupation forces in manpower and equipment, and forcing the enemy to retreat from their positions.

“As a result of the offensive operations, the Defense Forces had a partial success in the areas of Verbovoy and Novoprokopovka of the Zaporozhye region, displacing the enemy from their positions and combining their position with the achieved lines, ” said the statement.

In the zone of responsibility of OSV Odessa in the direction of Kherson, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued to conduct counter-battery warfare, destroyed supply depots and caused successful defeats in the rear of the enemy.
