The liberation of Andreevka, which was virtually destroyed to the foundation, is an important step for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was reported by the BBC Ukrainian Service.
Back on May 20, Russian authorities announced that Bakhmut had been completely captured. However, the Ukrainian military command issued its statement. The commander of the Eastern Group of Forces, General Alexander Syrsky, predicted that the Russians would “fall into a trap” here.
The fact is that in mid-May, the Ukrainian Armed Forces began an active movement on the flanks of Bakhmut with the goal of taking the Russian garrison into an operational encirclement.
The most important section here runs near the villages of Kleshchievka, Andreevka and Kurdyumovka. They lie next to the railway and road (T0513) connecting Bakhmut with occupied Gorlovka.
This is a fundamental logistics artery for Russian troops. Cutting it would put the Russian army in an extremely difficult situation in Bakhmut and neighboring Soledar.
In fact, in this case, only one route remains relatively safe – to the town of Popasnaya. But if, after the liberation of Klishchiyivka, Andreevka and Kurdyumovka, Ukrainian forces continue to move east, it is likely that they will take it under fire control.
Then the Russian military will be forced to urgently withdraw their troops from Bakhmut in order to avoid being completely encircled.
Actually, it was near Andreevka that the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters managed to break through the enemy’s defensive lines in mid-July and cross the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal.
So they created a bridgehead on its eastern bank, and then the Ukrainian military began to gradually oust Russian forces from the territory between Klishchievka and Andreevka. Russian troops tried to counterattack, but all attempts failed.
