The Security Service of Ukraine informed the Ukrainian blogger Yuriy Podolyats of suspicion of high treason under martial law, the department’s press service said.

Facts have been established of Podolyaki’s involvement in adjusting the aggressor’s missile attacks on Nikolaev at the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion. The defendant received intelligence information from his informant – the ex-head of the Nikolaev district prosecutor’s office, serving a life sentence for treason, the SBU said on September 15.
According to the investigation, communication between the blogger and his informant took place through a telegram channel via text messages.
Based on the collected evidence, SBU investigators additionally informed the blogger of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
Yuri Podolyaka is a native of the Sumy region of Ukraine. In 2014, he traveled to Russia and began broadcasting Kremlin narratives. Podolyaka is known as the author of the Telegram channel about the war in Ukraine, which has almost 2.7 million subscribers.
The blogger also regularly acts as an “expert” for Russian and Belarusian propagandists. On air, he called for the seizure of Ukraine and the destruction of its infrastructure.
In April 2023, the SBU already informed Podolyats about suspicion of committing crimes under five articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
