According to investigators, between 2013 and 2014, Kolomoisky illegally took possession of UAH 5.8 billion.
To do this, he created a criminal group of employees of the bank, in which he was a founder and shareholder.
Kolomoisky was informed of additional suspicion under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 3 Art. 27, part 3 art. 28, part 2 art. 200 (illegal actions with documents for transfer, payment cards and other means of access to bank accounts, electronic money, equipment for their production);
- Part 3 Art. 27, part 5 art. 191 (seizure of someone else’s property by an official’s abuse of his official position, committed by an organized group, on an especially large scale);
- Part 3 Art. 27, part 3 art. 209 (legalization of funds obtained from crime).
In order to take possession of UAH 5.8 billion, the defendant created a criminal group, which consisted of bank employees, in which he was the founder and shareholder.
During this period, members of this group allowed Kolomoisky to allegedly make systematic fictitious “cash deposits into the bank’s cash desk,” although in fact the bank did not receive any contributions.
According to investigators, such a “scheme” allowed the defendant to receive 5.8 billion UAH, which at that time was equivalent to more than 700 million dollars. USA.
Then these fake “contributions” were credited to Kolomoisky’s personal account and became real non-cash funds.
To legalize virtual assets, Kolomoisky used them in his business activities. In particular, he gave them out as loans and used them to pay for the loans of enterprises under his control, took them abroad, cashed them and withdrew them at bank branches.
The pre-trial investigation is currently ongoing.
