The accused asked to be released, but the court in Finland decided to continue the Russian’s detention.
Russian neo-Nazi Yan Petrovsky, who is suspected in Ukraine of committing terrorist crimes, will remain in custody in Finland. This decision was made by the Finnish court after a retrial of the case. Yle reported this on Thursday, September 14.
It was noted that the accused requested his release, but the judge decided to continue keeping the Russian in prison in the city of Vantaa.
At the same time, it was decided to classify the results of the re-examination of the case.
We remind you that the Finnish police detained a Russian suspected of committing terrorist crimes in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine in 2014-2015. The case concerns Russian war criminal Yan Petrovsky, one of the leaders of the neo-Nazi group Rusich, who has been fighting in Ukraine since 2014.
Later, the Russian neo-Nazis refused to fight in Ukraine due to the fact that the Russian Foreign Ministry did not demand the expulsion of Petrovsky.
