More than 200 applications have already been received from those wishing to adopt a child in Ukraine. In total, 70,000 children in need of adoption are registered in the state. This was announced on Saturday, June 4, by Ruslan Kolbasa, General Director of the Director for the Development of Social Services and Protection of the Rights of Children of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, on the air of an information telethon.
According to him, the adoption of a child using the Diya mobile application will simplify all the procedures for filing documents as much as possible.

“Initially, it was all on paper – all documents from different authorities were notarized. Now we are improving this process as much as possible,” Kolbasa explains.
He informed that before the start of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, there were 70 thousand children in need of adoption in the state register. Of these, only 17,000 can be legally ratified.
“Last season, approximately 1,700 children received a certain status as children deprived of parental care, and about 800 children already have the status of an orphan,” Kolbasa said.
Speaking about the adoption procedure, he said that the entire package of documents, for example, a passport, a certificate of residence and a criminal record, a marriage certificate, all documents will form in the personal file of a citizen, directly to the DIY office.
“The main thing that this application provides is the identity of a person. Children’s services do not have to go and check how the copies of these documents are certified, because they will have all the information, “said Kolbasa.
He said that each stage of the adoption process will be recorded, respectively, it will be made as efficient and transparent as possible.
“As of yesterday, more than 200 applications have been received from those who want to adopt a child through this application, about 300 applications are still being processed. I am sure the number of applicants will increase every day,” the representative of the Ministry of Social Policy noted.
It will be recalled that earlier the government simplified the procedure for placing children left without parental care, or having the status of an orphan, but only for relatives.
