The Kremlin authorities are a “criminal repressive regime,” and the people of the country are being dragged into war, the head of the Bundeswehr believes.
Moscow is committed to protracted bloodshed on Ukrainian territory. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said this on Wednesday, September 13, Ukrinform reports.
According to Pistorius, Putin is ready to continue the war for years and is not looking for negotiations to end it.
“So, there are no grounds yet for visible negotiations… I don’t see any signs of it,” the minister said.
At the same time, he did not exclude such a possibility, but emphasized that Ukraine should conduct these negotiations.
“Ultimately, it is not for us to decide on what terms the peace will be concluded, it is for the Ukrainians to decide, we should leave this issue to them. No matter what we attack their sovereignty,” Pistorius said .
He added that not all Russians, if they could speak freely, would say they support the war. According to the head of the Bundeswehr, many of them condemn the war, but are afraid to talk about it.
We remind you that the head of the Czech General Staff, Karel Rzheka, believes that the war can continue for a long time. Moreover, Russia would continue to pose a threat to Europe after the war.
Meanwhile, Putin sees “prospects” in cooperation with North Korea
