In another Russian attack on the Odessa region, parts of the invaders’ drones fell on the territory of Romania, a NATO member.
The Romanian Ministry of Defense has started the construction of a shelter in the village of Plaura in Tulcea County, located opposite the city of Izmail in the Odessa region. The Romanian Ministry of Defense announced this on Tuesday, September 12.
The department noted that construction began in accordance with the decision of the National Committee for Emergency Situations dated September 7, 2023 “On the adoption of protective measures in the territory of the country in the immediate vicinity of the conflict zone in Ukraine.”
The shelter is designed for civilians living in the area who may become victims of a Russian drone attack.
According to the message, there will be two shelters. The military will also develop an area around these shelters.
“The sheds, measuring 9.6 m long, 2 m wide (inside) and 1.5 m high (inside), will be handed over to the local authorities of Ceatalkioi commune after the work is completed,” added the Romanian Ministry of Defence.
Let’s recall that on September 9, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs protested to Russia’s Charge d’Affaires regarding the violation of the country’s airspace and the discovery of fragments of Russian drones.
Romania, the USA and Ukraine will conduct exercises in the Black Sea and the Danube Delta
