Its journalists got acquainted with the company’s presentation. According to them, production has started, which Kyiv informed American officials about back in June.
Antonov did not respond to the publication’s requests for comment due to security reasons.
A Reuters source in the concern confirms the information. He says this will help meet Ukraine’s military needs and give Antonov’s engineers more work.
Antonov has produced drones in the past, notably the Gorlitsa model, but cargo aircraft have been its main focus.
The source says the company’s expertise in cargo aircraft will apply to long-range drones.
The new center was launched, in particular, to provide support to private manufacturers of unmanned forensic systems and services.
The new center offers experimental aerodynamic research, the creation of full-featured simulators for training drone operators, and the development of component standards. A total of 26 functions.
Also, Antonov’s experience in the field of cargo aircraft will help Ukraine in the production of long-range drones to strike deep into Russian territory.
