A criminal group demanding $43,000 from a local resident was detained in Ternopil. This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.

“Then, they completely tore up the ‘agreement’ and, threatening physical harm and property damage, demanded that they be given $43,000. To force the victim to pay the funds, they took his car,” said police
Yesterday, September 11, the extortionists were detained while accepting the third tranche from a woman – $35,000, and the previous facts of the transfer of another $8,000 were documented.
Law enforcement found out where the attackers were holding the woman’s car. During the searches, the police recovered money, car keys and grenades.
The defendants are in prison, and the issue of informing them of the suspicion of extortion has been decided.
We remind you that earlier the SBU neutralized a criminal group in the Chernihiv region engaged in extortion. In Kharkov, “wolves” were detained, who, under the guise of SBU officers, robbed local residents.
