Russian media reported this today, September 11, citing the Kremlin press service.
Earlier today, the South Korean Yonhap news agency reported that, according to the South Korean government, a special train allegedly carrying Kim appears to have departed for the Russian Federation. According to South Korean intelligence, the train is moving towards the Russian Vladivostok.
It is estimated that the trip to Vladivostok on this train will take about 20 hours. So Kim Jong-in will probably arrive in the Russian Federation tomorrow, September 12.
The trip will therefore be Kim’s first such visit to Russia in nearly four and a half years and his first trip abroad since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier, information appeared in the media that Kim and Putin could meet on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, which takes place on September 10-13. Western analysts assume that the parties will discuss the supply of North Korean weapons to the Russian Federation.
