The senior lieutenant wanted to send the soldier back to clean up the area, but he refused, and an argument broke out between them.
A National Guard officer who beat a soldier was sentenced to one and a half years in a disciplinary battalion of military personnel. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
“Prosecutors proved in court that on March 18, 2023, on the territory of one of the barracks in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the platoon commander hit his subordinate in the chest and pushed him to the table, refusing to carry out his order. . The senior lieutenant wanted to send the soldier back to clear the territory, however he refused, and there was an argument between them,” the report said.
It was reported that in court the officer admitted his guilt and repented. He was found guilty of abuse of power or official authority by a military officer committed under martial law.
Let’s recall that in April a video of an officer beating a conscript in Ivano-Frankivsk spread online. He was removed from official duties. The State Bureau of Investigation has begun an internal investigation.
