Orban justifies the date 2034 by the fact that the coronavirus epidemic and Russia’s war against Ukraine took four years from him.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in a meeting with colleagues and supporters of the Fidesz party, said how long he plans to lead the country, Telex reports, citing meeting participants.
According to the interlocutor of the publication, the prime minister said that he plans to lead the country until 2034, although he previously indicated publicly several times that he plans to be the head of government until 2030.
Orban justified the date of 2034 by the fact that the coronavirus epidemic and Russia’s war against Ukraine took four years from him, a participant in the meeting reported his speech.
The Hungarian Prime Minister also noted that although his government’s popularity has declined recently, it is still not as popular as other leading parties in Europe.
He cited economic difficulties as the main reason for Fidesz’s loss of popularity, saying that society is not used to it, but to continued economic growth.
Let’s remember that Orban, speaking to the Hungarian community in Romania, said earlier that the European Union is attacking Hungary with an “LGBT offensive.” He also said his government would “protect the Christian roots” of Hungary from sexual minorities.
