The Russian occupiers launched an attack on Svyatogorsk almost a week ago, attacking the city and the Lavra.
In Svyatogorsk, Donetsk region, on Saturday, June 4, as a result of the shelling of the occupiers, the wooden All Saints Skete of the Svyatogorsk Lavra was burned. This was reported by the officer of the 95th separate air assault brigade Yuri Kochevenko.
“Another crime of the barbarians of Russia, with nothing sacred,” he wrote.
This information was confirmed by the UOC.
“As a result of the fighting, a large -scale fire broke out in the territory of the All Saints Skete of the Holy Assumption Svyatogorsk Lavra. The fires completely engulfed the main temple of the monastery,” the report said.
The Skete of All Saints was built in 1912 and is the largest wooden church in Ukraine.
Recall that on June 1, Russian bullets rained down on the Svyatogorsk Lavra, as a result of which three people died, a fourth died in hospital, and 4 more people were seriously injured.
